I really like http://www.foodnetwork.com because many of the recipes are easy to make, have a rating (both by people who have made them and a rating telling you how easy/hard it is to make). Also, if your friend is having troubles, she can also watch foodnetwork in order to learn how to make some of the recipes on thier website.

My favorite websites are listed below. You can search by ingredients, courses, themes, etc… And all recipes are rated by other users.

I like http://www.cooks.com, and the electronic Betty Crocker’s cookbook is great. Electronic cookbooks are so convenient.

http://www.foodnetwork.com You can put in any ingredient and they will give you every dish or recipe the channel has had featuring it. Or you can type in easy to prepare meals and I think it will give you recipes with very few steps or very few ingredients and a few steps. Or you can also find the recipe book by Tyler Florence. He has a conversation style of writing so it seems like he’s there with you in the kitchen answering your "now what do I do" questions. Easy Cooking is also a magazine and they list their recipes as levels: simple/moderate/somewhat advanced and there’s a couple recipes in every issue of the magazine.
Happy Eating, whatever you find to make.

Here is an easy and specific recipe. It’s also delicious, seasoned salmon, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Get your favorite seasoning for the salmon and get potatoes, peel off the skin (or don’t), and for the vegetables get some suace and pour it over hot, steamed vegetables. Yum! You’ll have the best dinner ever. (unless yuo’re a vegetarian)

You might want to look up the Taste of Home website. I get their cookbooks in the grocery every month or so and am pleased with the ease in which you can make the recipes. Here’s a recipe to give to your friend for a "husband pleasing" meal:

      Jenny’s Meatballs and Mashed Potatos

      1 lb lean ground beef
      1 lb lean ground turkey
2 packages Liptons Herb and Garlic seasoning mix
      2 eggs
      2 T Worcestershire sauce
      1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
      1 tsp fresh ground pepper
      1 tsp kosher salt

Mix the above ingrediants and form into 2 inch balls. Place in baking dish and preheat oven to 350 degrees.

      Sauce:

1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
      1/2 cup sour cream
      3 T white wine
1/2 cup shredded parmesan or asiago cheese

Blend the sauce ingrediants, except for cheese, and spoon over meatballs. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and bake for 50 -60 minutes. Remove cover during last 10 minutes of baking.

      Mashed Potatos:

      4 -6 Yukon Gold potatoes
Chicken Broth to cover and boil potatos in
      1/2 cube butter
      1/2 cup sour cream
      1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp kosher salt (or to taste)
      1 tsp fresh ground pepper

Boil potatos in broth until fork tender and drain. Stir in butter, sour cream, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mash to desired consistency adding more sour cream if necessary.

To plate up: put potatos on platter and top with meatballs and sauce. Serve with fresh green beans and hot rolls.
